Robyn Hope is a doctor of Media Studies based in Victoria, B.C., Canada. Her work sits at the intersection of media archeology, game studies, and queer and crip theory. She has written on point-and-click adventure games, tabletop roleplaying, and actual play. She specializes in the contemporary apocalyptic imaginary, as explored in her dissertation, Bunker Discourse and Apocalyptic Fantasies.

Upcoming work includes a special issue of Critical Studies in Media Communication on container media in digital games, co-edited with Christine Tran and Nick Taylor.

Robyn is also an enthusiastic supporter of critical making and research-creation. She has previously published a video essay in the Playthrough Poetics collection (ed. Milena Droumeva), and provided illustrations for the historical game Nagasaki Kitty.
